Wondrous item, common, rare, very rare

Pokeball are very powerful wondrous item. It is very useful and common/rare item, but also fairly easy to find. Something, through, it’s just better to kill the enemy.

But when it isn’t when you need an ally or something of the like, it may be best to have a few pokeballs in your pocket.

Whenever a creature is put into a pokeball, the creature becomes loyal to you, and that pokeball cannot be used to capture another creature, though the user can bring the creature out and call it back as an action.

To call it out, you simply push the button and throw the ball to an empty 5 foot square that you can see within 120 feet of you, and to call it back, you hold out the pokeball and it will be put back into the ball. The ball itself weighs 1 pound when empty, 2 when it holds a creature.

Capture. When you throw thie item at a creature, the ball opens and turns the creature to energy before sucking it into the ball.

However, the creature can escape with a successful Wisdom Saving Throw, DC equal to 8 + the user’s proficiency bonus + the user’s Intelligence modifiers. There are certain things that can change the saving throw, however.

Pokeball (uncommon): The typical pokeball can catch creatures with CR of 1 or less. For every CR above 1, you subtract 5 from the save DC.

Great Ball (rare): These ball are a little rarer, and for good reason. They can capture creatures with CR of 3 or less.

If the creature’s CR is 1 or less, you can add 2 to the save DC, and for every CR above 3 you subtract 5 from the DC.

Ultra Ball (very rare): These are the rarest of them all. They can capture creatures with CR 5 or less.

If the creature’s CR is 3-2, you can add 2 to the save DC and if it is 1, you can add 4. For every CR above 5, you subtract 5 from the DC.

If the creature is willing to be captured in this way, they automatically fail at the saving throw. If a creature linked to a pokeball is dropped to 0 hit points.

They are returned to the pokeball and must take 1d10 days to recover before they can be put back into battle. If the pokeball changes hands, the creature inside becomes loyal to the new owner.
