Bugbear 5e | Race Guide for 5th Edition d&d

Neither bugs nor bears, bugbears are the hulking cousins of goblins and hobgoblins. With roots in the Feywild, early bugbears resided in hidden places, in hard-to-reach and shadowed spaces.

Long ago and from out of the corner of your eye, they came to the Material Plane, urged to spread throughout the multiverse by the conquering god Maglubiyet.

Centuries later, they still bear a fey gift for lurking just out of sight, and many of them have sneaked away from that god’s influence.

They are long of limb and covered in coarse hair, with wedge-shaped ears and pointed teeth. Despite their formidable build, bugbears are quiet skulkers, thanks to a fey magic that allows them to hide in spaces seemingly too small for them.

Frequently Asked Question of Bugbear

Bugbear is an interesting race, but most people have a few questions regarding it. Listed below are the answers;

1. What Is The Best Class For A Bugbear?

Warlock. Probably the Bugbear’s best choice if you want to play a spellcaster. Surprise Attack works with spell attacks, and while that’s not a huge impact for most spellcasters it’s excellent on the Warlock since Eldritch Blast allows you to make multiple attacks

2. Are Bugbears Large or Medium?

Bugbears were a massive humanoid race distantly related to, but larger and stronger than, goblins and hobgoblins.

3. How Old Can Bugbears Live?

Age: Bugbears reach adulthood at age 16 and live up to 80 years.

Alignment: Bugbears endure a harsh existence that demands each of them to remain self-sufficient, even at the expense of their fellows.

They tend to be chaotic evil. Size: Bugbears are between 6 and 8 feet tall and weigh between 250 and 350 pounds.

4. How Do You Beat Bugbears In DND?

Pure, massive focused damage is the best way to take one of these enemies down. The party also better do that before the chief starts attacking as they deal more damage than a regular bugbear and attack more often as well. If everything goes wrong, players might want to have some escape spells prepared.

5. Can Bugbears Speak?

A bugbear is a tall and hulking humanoid distantly related to, but larger and stronger than, goblins and hobgoblins.

Like many goblinoids, bugbears speak the Goblin language. They are one of the only goblinoids to be covered in fur.
