ORC | Race Guide for Dungeon & Dragon 5th Edition

Orcs trace their creation to the one-eyed god Gruumsh, an unstoppable warrior and powerful leader. The divine qualities of Gruumsh resonate within ores, granting them a reflection of his toughness and tenacity that can’t be matched, and the god equipped his children to be able to live above or below ground.

On some worlds, such as Eberron, ores were among the first defenders of the natural order from the encroachments of Fiends and other extraplanar threats. Gruumsh’s blessings have made ores tireless guardians and mighty allies wherever they are found, even when they turn their devotion to other gods.

ORC Traits

As an ore, you have the following racial traits.

Creature Type. You are a Humanoid.

Size. You are Medium.

Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.

Adrenaline Rush. You can take the Dash action as a bonus action. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Whenever you use this trait, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus.

Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Frequently Asked Question of ORC

ORC is an interesting race, but people usually ask a few questions about it. Here are the answers;

1. What Race Is An ORC?

In Tolkien’s works, Orcs are a brutish, aggressive, ugly, and malevolent race of monsters, contrasting with the benevolent Elves and serving an evil power, though they share a human sense of morality. There is a suggestion, among several somewhat contradictory origin stories, that they area corrupted race of elves.

2. Can You Play As A Full ORC?

Whatever the circumstances of your campaign, don’t feel like you need to play your orc as stereotypically evil and barbaric. Orcs are a playable character race originally found in Volo’s Guide to Monsters, but the updated version can be found in both Eberron: Rising from the Last War and Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount.

3. What Is The Best ORC Class?

Fighter. For a Strength-based build, it’s hard to go wrong with the Orc. Strength, Constitution, and Aggressive make it easy to get into melee and move between targets, and the extra skill proficiency is always nice.

4. How Heavy In Is An ORC?

Orcs males weigh in at 250 to 300 pounds. Tauren males average about 400 pounds, while females are usually a bit lighter.

5. How Tall Are ORC 5e?

Orcs are usually over 6 feet tall and weigh between 230 and 280 pounds. Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier.
